After watching Sonic and his allies destroy the Metal Sonic Projector (that he may have set up himself), Metal Sonic challenged his arch-nemesis to a race of sorts. In Press Garden Zone, Eggman tried to locate (or possibly contact) Metal Sonic, only realizing he was being spied on Eggman sent the heroes on to Stardust Speedway. After Eggman attacks the Miracle Planet, Metal Sonic takes full control of it (as seen on holograms). In the fleetway comics, he is called Metallix, and cloned an army, and became a fully-fledged dictator.Ĭlassic Metal Sonic is one of the main antagonists of Sonic CD. However, he does possess at least one emotion, hate. He appears to have no personality quirks outside of his egotism and dislike of apparently all life. Other than that, he is a cold, emotionless robot, with a stoic and remorseless nature. And in Sonic Heroes, he played at being a dictator, bent on world domination. However, in the Sonic OVA movie, he redeemed himself towards the end. He is motivated to defeat Sonic, and has little or no interest in anything that does not further this goal.
After Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic fully embraced his evil nature and chose to remain with Eggman, determined on killing his benevolent counterpart. For a short period of time, Metal Sonic was completely deluded in believing that he was the real Sonic until his breakdown and betrayal of Eggman in Sonic Heroes, accepting the fact that he was merely an artificial duplicate of Sonic, a role which he does not seem to care about nowadays, and has accepted his role in Eggman's plots for world domination. Unlike the true Sonic, Metal Sonic is also a complete megalomaniac who sees himself as the ultimate life-form and is happy to do whatever it takes to prove it, even being shown on several occasions to betray his own creator in order to achieve his goal. Metal Sonic thinks of himself superior to the real Sonic and as such has an intense hatred for the Blue Streak and his friends. He appears as the secondary antagonist of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic Rivals, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 and Team Sonic Racing, a supporting antagonist in Sonic Generations, The Lego Dimensions Level Pack: Sonic Dimensions and Sonic Mania, the main antagonist of Sonic Heroes and Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps, an unlockable character in Sonic Adventure 2, a cameo antagonist in Sonic Adventure and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, the main protagonist villain of the Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode Metal DLC to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, a major protagonist in Sonic Rivals 2 and a mentioned antagonist in Sonic Forces.
